Yvonne Schupak McNeill died, unexpectedly, of natural causes, on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
Yvonne was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 12, 1971 to Clara (Boggs) & Charles M Schupak. As a young child, Yvonne attended Ukrainian Catholic school and additionally was accomplished at Ukrainian dancing. As a result of this early training, when on an extended trip to Russia with college friends, Yvonne as able to read the Cyrillic alphabet signs and interpret for her group.
She moved with her extended family to Winfield, KS, and participated with the First Presbyterian Church and the Lowell School PTA. Yvonne had a huge personality, big voice with a distinctive Philadelphia accent and made friends easily.
Yvonne was a devoted mother to her only child, Reagan Hope McNeill, a special needs child. Yvonne was proactive in providing activities and educational opportunities for Reagan. Yvonne, herself, suffered from dystonia, which did not allow her to use her hands and arms to full capacity.
Upon moving to Wichita, Yvonne began to fulfill her lifelong dream of being a cartoonist and diligently worked at developing her skills as an artist. Much of her work was posted on Facebook for friends to enjoy.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Fred and Jo Boggs of Winfield and great-grandparents, Georgia & W.F. Lilleston of Wichita.
Survivors include sister Stephanie Schupak, brother Greg Schupak, aunt Becky Boggs Groene, several cousins, and very special friend and caregiver, Rodney Dickson.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions made be made to the Winfield Arts & Humanities Council. Donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
