William Joseph Keesey, 55, of Winfield, KS passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center.
In Winfield, KS September 7, 1965, Joe was born to proud parents Wayne Leroy Keesey and Pamela Jane (Wagner) Keesey. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Cheryl Moody on July 7, 1984, they shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Joe was a hard worker all of his life and he worked in construction, the oil fields, and farming. He enjoyed going camping, traveling, and going antiquing, most of all Joe loved spending time with his wife and family.
One of the things closest to Joe’s heart was his cattle, puppy dogs, and kitty cats. All of the nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces knew “Uncle Joe” as the “Candy Man”, one of the things he loved was when the kids would hug him around the legs and pat his pockets for candy, as they always knew he had some ready for them.
Surviving to honor Joe in memory is his wife Cheryl Keesey, father Wayne Keesey, brother Mike Keesey, sister Lisa Keesey Mitchell, and sister Gena Keesey Crow, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and their children. He is preceded in death by his mother Pamela Keesey, and sister-in-law Ramona Keesey.
Joe’s family would like to invite anyone that knew him to join them and share any memories at the New Salem Community Building at 12:00 Saturday, July 24, 2021. Please bring any food donations at this time. Following the dinner, the family asks anyone who wants to join them at the farm to say one final goodbye to Joe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the “Joe Keesey Memorial Fund” at the Community National Bank in Winfield or left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
