Virginia Lee (Ginny) Moore our 90-year-old mother was an extraordinary woman. Born on July 30th, 1933, she lived an incredible life full of ambition and strength. She owned and operated many businesses, including Ginny’s Gifts in Winfield, LaVilla Mexican restaurant in El Dorado, KS, a deli, and a floral shop. Despite her age, she was still running her gift shop until her health began to fail at the age of 89, forcing her to retire. She was an independent and inspiring woman who was proud, humble, and hardworking. Most of all, she was a fighter who touched the lives of many. On August 3rd, 2023, she passed away peacefully. She will be remembered for her strong spirit and the life she lived.
Ginny is survived by her children: Linda Hamlin (Jim) of Winfield, KS, Karen Bond (Steve) of Winfield, KS, Bob Osterhout (Ceralea) of Williston, SC, and Bill Osterhout (Gretchen) of Haysville, KS; grandchildren: Brandi, Braden, Chris, Jason, David, Dustin, Bobbie, Jessica, Kylie, and Cassidy; 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lottie (Hedworth) Farthing, husband Clifford Moore, sisters Phyllis O’Brien and Wilma Green.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to “Power of the Purse” checks made out to the Legacy Regional Community Foundation, Winfield KS, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
