Teresa Ann (Johnson) McKnight

Teresa Ann McKnight, 64, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

Teresa’s family would like to invite friends to a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Silverdale Community Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Silverdale Community Church, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.

Teresa was the oldest of four children born to John A. and Lucille (Mathews) Johnson on October 30, 1956 in Paola, KS. She graduated high school in 1974 and then went to the Ark City beauty college, graduating in 1975, she also graduated from Cowley County Community College in 1988. Teresa worked at several local beauty salons in town, she worked at the Ark City Memorial Hospital for 6 years, and as a para in Ark City schools, retiring in 2010 to spend more time with her grandchildren.  Teresa was united in marriage to Bryan McKnight on July 15, 1995. She was an avid greeting card maker, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and doing crafts. She was actively involved in the ministry of the Silverdale Community Church where her husband pastors.

Teresa is survived by her husband Bryan of the home, daughters Jennifer (Jason) Edwards of Columbus, WI; Lesa Ryan of Arkansas City; Stephanie Stockton of Kaukauna, WI; grandchildren: Kodi (Gena) Edwards of Columbus, WI; Kylinn, Tyler, and Lylah Ryan of Arkansas City; and great-grandsons Grayson and Eli Edwards of Columbus, WI; her siblings Nada June of Winfield; Ricky (Cheri) Johnson of Newkirk, OK; and Roger  (Susan) Johnson of Arkansas City; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Jason McKnight, brother-in-law Mike June, and son-in-law Josh Ryan.
