Shirley A. (Anstey) Hodges

Shirley Annetta Hodges, 89, of Arkansas City, passed away on January 7, 2021 at Medicalodges of Oxford.

Shirley was born in Arkansas City to parents Charles and Verda (Baker) Anstey, she attended Arkansas City schools and in January of 1950 was united in marriage to Robert L. Hodges. Shirley enjoyed reading, collecting Cherished Teddy Bears and going for long walks. Her main joy in life was being a mother and a grandmother to her family and many other people, she enjoyed babysitting, and volunteering as a grandparent at Adams Elementary.

Shirley is survived by her children: Randy Hodges, Richard Hodges, Rodney Hodges, Jeff Hodges and wife Rebecca, Michelle Chrisman and husband Neal; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Robert Jr., daughter Janet, grandson Shannon, an infant daughter and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 23rd at the Oxford Funeral Service. Please wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellington Humane Society or to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
