Sherry Lynn Bodkins

Sherry Lynn Bodkins, 55, of Winfield, KS, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Winfield First Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Sherry was born on November 13, 1965 in Winfield to parents Willard Lee and Doris Mae (Swafford) Bodkins. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1984 and then received her RN license through Butler Community College. She later received her BSN from Southwestern College in Winfield. Sherry worked at several local facilities, including the Kansas Veterans Home, and she used her gift of caring for others while she cared for her mother for many years. Sherry was an active member of the Nazarene Church of Winfield with her significant other Donald O’Neil, she loved spending time with her dog Gracie, but the most important thing in life to her was her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters Holli Bodkins (Eyan), Nadia Black, grandchildren Chaiilynn, Jossalee, Lilyanna, Elliette, and Ezra, brother Willard “Wayne” Bodkins (Kathy).

She is preceded in death by her parents and significant other Donald O’Neil.
