Scott Edward McGuire

Scott Edward McGuire, 52, of Arkansas City, KS passed away at his home on Friday, January 21, 2022.

Cremation will take place, followed by a private memorial amongst his surviving children. No other services will be scheduled.

Scott was born in Santa Cruz, CA to parents Ron and Dixie (Knight) McGuire. The family moved to Arkansas City where Scott graduated from high school in 1986, he then attended Cowley County Community College for 2 years before getting his bachelor's in business from Washburn University. Scott was united in marriage to Alicia Ballard on February 15, 1992, they later divorced. 

Scott was passionate about music and loved playing guitar. His favorite band was KISS, which he was a proud member of the KISS Army. He was an avid collector of many things, including trading cards, records, and books. Throughout his life, Scott loved and cared for numerous cats. Though he was a proud cat dad, his children were his life. There wasn't anything he wouldn't have done for them. Scott was a talented writer and poet who journaled for hours a day. He took inspiration from his favorite writer Stephen King. 

Scott is survived by his mother Dixie McGuire, daughter Chloe McGuire, sons Sinjin McGuire, Silas McGuire, Asher McGuire, and Hudson McGuire, grandchildren Daniel, Teagan, and Flynn, and brother Kelly McGuire. He is preceded in death by his father, and infant daughter Savanah Renee.
