Robert Leroy McWithey, Sr.

Robert Leroy McWithey Sr., 83, of Winfield passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at William Newton Hospital.

Bob was born on October 20, 1937 in Meade, KS to Harry and Vera (McKinnis) McWithey. He graduated Winfield High School in 1956 and in 1957 married the love of his life Zelta Ruth Creamer in Winfield. Bob worked in manufacturing and spent most of his career at Clark Manufacturing in Wellington, KS. Bob enjoyed playing golf, especially at Springhill Golf Course in Ark City, fishing, and animals, he was very proud to be the first member of his family to graduate from high school.

Surviving to honor his memory are his sons: William (Rebecca) McWithey of Winfield, Robert (Cheryl) McWithey of Winfield, sister Micki Philpot and 3 grandsons.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings: Vera Lee Dupey, Darlene Douglas, Virgil McWithey, Cleo McWithey, Leo McWithey, and Eldon McWithey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 4-6 P.M. Friday, January 22. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society and may be left in the care of the funeral home.
