Rebecca J. Holcomb, 74, of Winfield, KS passed away March 14, 2023 at her home, surrounded by family.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 24, 2023 at the First Presbyterian Church of Winfield. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Winfield Deacon’s Fund. Donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Becca was born September 3, 1948 in Fayetteville, AR the daughter of Homer and Reba (Delap) Shinn. Becca graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1966. She attended Arkansas Tech University. She was united in marriage to Dan Holcomb in 1969 in Idabel, OK. They were happily married for 50 years before his passing in 2019. Becca lived in numerous cities throughout Arkansas and eventually settled in Winfield. She worked as an office aide at Whittier Elementary for 30+ years and was a deacon and past elder of the First Presbyterian Church.
Becca never met a stranger and loved helping people. She was known for her prolific personal cards sent for every occasion hoping people knew she was thinking of them and encouraging them. She was also a lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan.
Survivors include her daughter Melissa Kanaga and husband Scott, grandchildren Marshall and Anna Kanaga, siblings Phillip Shinn, Emily Shinn, David Shinn and wife Connie, Thomas Shinn and wife Colleen, 4 nieces and 2 nephews, as well as numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Catie Shinn, and sister-in-law Anne Shinn.
