Pat was born May 13, 1930 at the family home to John S. and Mildred Irene (Wise) Lawrence. The family moved to a small farm south of Winfield where she attended first grade in a one-room school. She then attended Lowell elementary and graduated from Winfield High School in 1948. She graduated from Kansas State College with a degree in home economics and education in January 1952. She taught at Cambridge High School for a few years and then became a homemaker and helped on the farm. Pat married Duane C. Chrisler on March 1, 1953. They farmed in the Tisdale Community for 44 years before moving to town in 1998 due to Duane’s failing health.

While on the farm she became active in the county extension program as a 4-H leader and parent, on the extension council and executive board, and a member of the Salemite Extension Homemakers Unit. Pat became well-known for her wheat weaving by giving lessons, doing programs for groups, showing at local craft fairs, and doing special orders. She was active in Gardenaires and the hospital auxiliary, volunteering over 5000 hours- mostly at the cancer center. Pat made numerous amounts of doll clothes that she sold for the benefit of the auxiliary, including wardrobes for the American Girl Dolls that were sold for the annual auxiliary raffle. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and was involved in the women's programs.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Duane, her parents, brothers John, Paul and Gerald, sister’s Dora and Joanita. She is survived by her daughter Karen Pool and husband Monte, son Randall Chrisler, grandchildren: Kyle Baker and wife Melissa, Kelsey Newell, and Cody Chrisler, great-grandsons: Blaze, Briggs, and Brecken Baker, and Cooper Newell; great-granddaughter Kaidynce Vannoy; step-grandchildren: Heather Pool and Kristy Pool, and step-great-grandson Kandon Watson; other survivors include a large number of nieces and nephews for three generations.
