Pamela June (Dixon) Taylor, 71, of Winfield, KS went home to be with her Lord on July 30, 2022. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home after a long, courageous fight.
Pam was born in Great Bend, KS on February 8, 1951 to Curt and Bessie (Kitch) Dixon. At an early age, the family moved to a farm east of Ark City. Growing up she was active in 4-H. She attended school at C-4 and graduated from Ark City High School in 1969.
After graduation, she was united in marriage to SRA Gary Taylor from Udall, KS on May 30, 1969 at Hillcrest Bible Baptist Church of Ark City. This was the start of a 21-year adventure as an Air Force family. Pam saw each assignment as a new challenge and opportunity. She enjoyed roller-skating, shopping, and meeting people at yard sales. Pam loved working with and riding her horses, and she enjoyed making costumes and riding in area parades, including the Winfield Lighted Parade.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronnie Dixon, and an infant granddaughter, Morgan Joyce. Survivors include her husband Gary, daughters Tamra Joyce and husband Scott of Nashville, TN, Tracy Elledge and husband Tony of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Rachel and Audrey Joyce, Joseph and Ethan Elledge; two sisters Diana Jennings and Eva Lee Mercer; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillcrest Bible Baptist Church of Ark City, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
