Marla Porter Obituary

Marla June Porter, 74, of Winfield passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021.

The family will hold private memorial services, arrangements are in care of The Oxford Funeral Service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.

Marla was born in Wellington, KS on March 31, 1946 to parents Frank and Nita (Rowe) Brown. She attended school in Oxford, KS and later graduated from cosmetology school in Wichita. Marla was united in marriage to Donald Porter in 1973. She worked at Beech aircraft for 35 years in the wiring department. Marla played in the Winfield City Band, she enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels and she loved animals.

Marla is survived by her husband Donald Porter, brother John Brown and wife Rochelle, step-daughter Lori Applegate, nephew Kenyon Hinrichsen, nieces Kelly Wilkey and Kemra Isabell. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Ellen Hinrichsen.
