Marial "Babe" Te'Ata Greenwood

Marial “Babe” Te’Ata Greenwood, 79, of Arkansas City passed away Monday, October 31st, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 4th, 2022 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. A time of visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 from 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 7th, 2022 at the Seeley Cemetery in Connerville, OK.

Babe was born on November 14th, 1942 to Esau Keel and Nora Ned Greenwood. She attended primary school at the Chilicco Indian School, graduated from Newkirk High School, and attended a year at Cowley County Junior College. She worked as a certified nurse’s aide for over forty years in Ponca City at the hospital and at the West Ministry Manor. Babe loved to travel, especially to Graceland, going out to eat, going to movies, shopping, reading, gambling, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Babe is survived by her brother John Greenwood, and her nieces: Tasha, Jamie, and Jodie, great-nieces and great-nephews: Micah, Jonathan, Kenzie, Addison, Michael, Kaylynn, Hayden, Kurstin, Hazelynn, and her great-great nephews Landon and Dallas. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Pattie, and her best friend Carolyn Kohen.
