Maria Dolores (Ramirez) Hernandez

Maria Dolores (Ramirez) Hernandez, 43, of Arkansas City passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Arkansas City. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday, February 12 at the church. There will be a time of visitation from 12-5 PM Friday, February 12 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.  Attendees are requested to please wear a mask and adhere to social health safety measures. Memorial contributions for Maria may be made to Ronald McDonald House, contributions may be left in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Maria was born February 3, 1978 in Wichita, KS the daughter of ┼Manuel Ramirez and ┼Zulema (Esparza) Ramirez. Maria lived in Wichita, Dodge City, Goddard, Valley Center and Arkansas City; she attended Cloud Elementary School, Goddard Junior High and Arkansas City High School. Maria worked numerous jobs such as Medical Lodges, Hometown Rent-A-Center and she was an assistant manager at Helping Hands. Maria was united in marriage to Juan Jose Hernandez on August 9, 2008 at the Cowley County Courthouse. Things she enjoyed since she was young were playing the keyboard, singing, dancing and crocheting. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Maria is survived by her husband Juan Hernandez, children: Jose Hernandez, and Juan Hernandez, sister Felixita Ramirez, and one grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Alejandra Ramirez and Maria Del Rocio Miranda.
