Louise Jane Baird

Louise Jane Baird, 90, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Presbyterian Manor of Arkansas City.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Union-Graham Cemetery in Winfield. Visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M. Friday, January 14 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield, the family will greet friends from 5-6 P.M. The family requests that attendees please wear masks to the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Manor, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.

Louise was born in Winfield on December 4, 1931 to John and Johanna (Krehbiel) Baird. She graduated from high school in 1949, she also attended St. John’s College for two years. Louise worked for the Cowley County Register of Deeds before joining the Barbour Collinson Firm in 1956. She retired from the Barbour Title Co. in 2001 after 45 years. Her favorite pastime was bowling and she belonged to the Friday night bowling league for many years, from which she brought home several trophies. She also loved to garden, sew, and spend time with her nieces and nephews. Louise was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church and enjoyed working in the nursery for many years.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents, brother John Jr., sister Doris Ashton, and nephew Elliot Quick. She is survived by her sister Elaine Brennan, nieces Pamela Johnson, Cindy (Eddie) Kearns, Deb Brennan and nephew Alan (Cathe) Brennan, great-nieces Molly (Jeff) Smith,  Abby Quick, and Cassidae Brennan, great-nephews Andy (Jenn) Brennan, Jason (Scott) Kearns, and Ethan (Sarah) Brennan, great-great-nieces Rylee Smith, Addison Smith, Caroline Brennan, and great-great-nephews Graham Brennan and Brennan Smith.
