Obituary

Leon Robert Faber, 69, of Winfield, KS passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Botkin Care & Rehab of Wellington, KS.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Leon will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice and Shelley Family Funeral Home to defray funeral expenses.

Leon was born in Wichita, KS on August 2, 1953 the youngest child of Matt and Rosalia (Hermes) Faber. In his younger years, Leon worked as a rancher in the Wichita stockyards, he later was a self-employed handyman. He enjoyed mowing and being outside.

Survivors include children Jeff Faber, Charice (Faber) Vanley, Leon Faber Jr., and Jason Faber, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, siblings Louise Kennedy, Don Faber, and Ray Faber, sister-in-law Jan Faber, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Jo Stang and husband Marvin, brother Robert Faber, and brother-in-law William Kennedy.
