Lary Shane Nichols

Lary Shane Nichols, 57, of Winfield, KS passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at William Newton Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Island Park, Lions pavilion from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm. Please come and share memories and stories to celebrate his life and love. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield to defray funeral expenses.

Shane was born on November 29, 1965 in Wichita, KS to parents Lary Dee and Louise Eleanor (Reynolds) Nichols. Shane graduated from Winfield High School in 1984 and then went to Cowley College to receive a degree in criminal justice. He worked at Greif Brothers Manufacturing for many years as a machinist and later as quality control. Shane enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, reading, and watching anything on the history channel, including bigfoot and conspiracy documentaries. He had many dogs, but his favorites were Oreo and Buster. Shane loved his family more than anything.

 Shane is survived by his sisters Jana Porter and Teresa Nichols, niece Nicole Porter and nephew Marcus Porter and his family, great-niece Piper Turner, and numerous cousins, other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
