Juanita Cordoba Manriquez, 90, born and raised in Winfield, KS passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 27, 2023 at St. Ann’s nursing home in Oklahoma City.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, September 1, 2023 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield, the rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM Friday, prior to mass. Burial will follow services at St. Mary’s Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled from 5-7 PM Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Juanita was born May 30, 1933 in Winfield, KS to parents Benjamin and Maria (Ramirez) Cordoba. She graduated from high school and married Thomas A. Manriquez on Christmas Eve 1949 in Newkirk, OK. He preceded her in death in 1986. Juanita worked as a seamstress, for the State of Kansas, and prior as a clerk at Calvert’s/Kerr’s department store. She enjoyed cooking, attending Holy Name Catholic Church and being a part of the altar society.
Survivors include her daughters Emilia Bevington of Denton, TX, Veronica Caudill of Yukon, OK, 2 grandsons Sean Caudill of New Mexico, and Chris Caudill of Houston, TX, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members. Juanita is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
