Jean Anne (Meads) Sooter, 62, of Winfield, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home.
Jean was born in Lynnwood, CA on April 5, 1958 the daughter of James Arthur Meads and Beverly (Ortez) Madonna. Jean was united to Michael Sooter in Las Vegas, NV. Before settling down in marriage, she enjoyed riding horses and barrel racing. She enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family, she liked coloring books, playing board games, reading, gardening, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed taking family trips and traveling across the country. Jean loved animals and was an environmental activist.
She is survived by her husband Michael, children: Amanda Meads, Crystal Herrera (Jake), and Easter Michele, grandson Jace Herrera, mother Beverly Madonna, siblings: Anthony Cunningham, James Arthur Meads, Jr., and Barbara Jean Schrader. Jean is preceded in death by her father and sister-in-law Pam Miller.
Jean was an outspoken person who always spoke her mind but she was known for having a kind heart and would always help anyone in need.
Jean will forever be missed by all her friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, February 12 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winfield. There will be a time of visitation from 7-9 PM Thursday, February 11 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield to defray funeral expenses.
