Irene LaRue (McGlasson) Curfman

Irene LaRue Curfman, 72, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 11th, 2022 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield, burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. A memorial has been established in Irene’s name to the Cumbernauld Village Activity Fund. Contributions may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.

Irene was born to Roy and Mary (Shore) McGlasson on August 14, 1949, in Winfield, KS along with her twin sister Ilene Coghill. She attended Oxford Schools, graduating from high school in 1967. Irene was united in marriage to Gary Curfman, the couple later divorced. From this union was born her son Darren Curfman and daughter Jennifer Curfman. Irene worked at William Newton Hospital for 27 years and then at Cumbernauld Village for 2 years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, helping on the farm, playing card games and bingo at Cumbernauld, she was also a member of Shepherd’s Grace Church.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary (Shore) McGlasson and her daughter Jennifer Curfman, and brother Irl Leroy McGlasson. She is survived by her son Darren Curfman of Winfield; sisters Ilene Coghill of Casterville, CA and Patricia McMahan-White of Clear Lake, CA; grandchildren Brent and Alysa, one great-grandson, and a great-grandchild on the way; as well as several nieces nephews and cousins.
