Obituary

Ida Geraldine Brown, 90, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 with her family by her side.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City. Memorial contributions may be made to Angels Care Hospice, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Ida was born August 18, 1932, in Arkansas City, KS to parents Issac and Dorthy (Barton) Bowman. She graduated from Ark City High School in 1951. On November 4, 1959 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Everett R. Brown, in Miami, OK. Ida was a waitress for many years, she also worked at Walsworth in Arkansas City, KS and at Medicalodges North in housekeeping. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, and traveling.

Ida is survived by her sons Lester Brown and Donald Brown, brother Samuel Bowman of Lawrence, KS and 4 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Margaret Hughes, Everett Bowman, Ruth Trenary, Jackie Bowman, and Hazel (Charlene) Bowman.
