Glen Bloyer, 94, of Winfield, KS passed into the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ Monday, January 3, 2022 at the South Central Kansas Medical Center.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, January 13 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Community members are welcome to greet the family at the Visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project; donations may be left in the care of the funeral home. Graveside service for the family will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 14th at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery in Winfield.
Glen was born in Esterville, IA August 31, 1927 the son of Clyde and Leona (Corderman) Bloyer. After graduating from Armstrong, IA High School in 1945 where he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball, Glen joined the Army, being honorably discharged in 1946. Glen attended Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis for three years where he met his beloved wife Alberta Jean Roys. They were married July 18, 1951 in Volga, IA. Glen worked several different trades until they bought a farm near Grantsburg, WI in 1956 where they raised their family. In 1985 the couple moved to Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, where they served in Christian mission for two years, after which they moved to Winfield. Glen worked for a son’s roofing business for the next 25 years, retiring in 2011. Glen enjoyed working. In his spare time, he liked fishing and spending time with his family.
Glen is survived by his wife Alberta Jean; children: Charles (Candy) Bloyer, Clyde (Debbie) Bloyer, Mark Bloyer, Thomas Bloyer, Ronaele (Rick) Wolf, Walter (Terrie) Bloyer, and Joy Crow; thirty-seven grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; and brother David Bloyer. He is preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, and son-in-law Ed Crow.
