Gary Kenneth Bliss

Gary Kenneth Bliss, 87, of Winfield, KS passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in his home.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Christian Church in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Gary was born June 17, 1934 in Wellington, KS the son of Kenneth and Dorthodean (Wilkerson) Bliss. He graduated from Oxford, KS High School in 1952. Gary married the love of his life, Beth Shanks in the First Christian Church of Winfield on February 7, 1954 entering into 68 wonderful years together. Gary first worked for Boeing and Jarvis Auto Supply, followed by a 30 year career working for GE before retiring as Stockroom Supervisor. He enjoyed several hobbies including boating, gardening, reading, and was an award-winning artist.

Gary is survived by his wife, Beth Bliss of the home, children Kent Bliss of Grapevine, TX, and Cinda Brady and husband Ike, of Parkville, MO; grandchildren: Grant Brady, Drew Brady, Joshua Bliss, Taylor Bliss, Lisa Ketteler, and Gus Ketteler; siblings: Beverly Conover of Oxford, KS, Loretta Newland of Wichita, KS, and Judy Meridith and husband Bill of Wellington, KS; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
