February 20, 1925 ~ November 12, 2023 (age 98) 98 Years Old
Elmeree Oliver, 98, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Homestead Assisted Living of Wellington, KS.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Oxford Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M. Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Oxford Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wellington American Legion, donations may be left in the care of the Oxford Funeral Service.
Della Elmeree Oliver was born on the family farm north of Oxford, KS on February 20, 1925 the daughter of Elmer C. and Della (Prothro) Kleier. On January 18, 1945 Elmeree was united in marriage to P.C. Oliver. They lived in Oxford and owned Oliver Furniture and Mortuary until 1991. Elmeree and P.C. retired and moved to Santa Fe, NM for 15 years before returning to Wellington in 2006. She was a member of the Soldanella Club, American Legion Auxiliary, numerous bridge clubs, the Oxford Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church of Sante Fe. She sang in church choirs for many years. Elmeree loved spending time with P.C., family activities, dancing, and singing in the choir.
Elmeree is survived by her children: Ginny Butts (Bill) of Wellington, Gerry Oliver of Oxford, and Brian Oliver (Elizabeth) of Joseph, OR; 6 grandchildren: Jason Butts (Bridget), Adrienne Rader (Brian), Adam Oliver (Tammy), Aaron Oliver (Denise), Dama Chrisman, and Megan Oliver (Chad Huber); 11 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband P.C., her parents, 5 siblings, daughter-in-law Betty Oliver, and great-grandson Shepard Rader.
