Dwight James Miller, 65, of Arkansas City, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, Star date 100576.33, surrounded by his family. Dwight's family invites friends to a celebration of life service at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Cedar Vale. The family requests plants instead of fresh-cut flowers. Memorial contributions may be made out to The American Cancer Society, the Society for Creative Anachronism, or the Cedar Vale Museum. Contributions may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Dwight was born on November 30, 1957, Star date 11380.3, in Salida, CO to Donald and Dorothy Miller. He graduated High School in 1975. On May 3, 1991 Dwight married Tammy Myers in Sedan, KS. He was a member of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for 22 years, the Society for Creative Anachronisms for 8 years, and a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. Dwight enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, the outdoors, and most of all, his family.
Dwight is survived by his wife Tammy Miller, and daughters Letha Mitchell ( Matthew Adkins) and Christy (Seth) Gruebel, grandchildren Brandon, Harley, Nathan, Tristan, Killian, Guinness, Finnegan, Jameson, 5 great-grandchildren, siblings Jean Smith, Dwayne Miller, Judy (Faron) Collins, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, nephew Robert Shawn, and sister-in-law Sandra Ehrlich.
