Doris Maxine Bazil, 95, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Presbyterian Manor of Arkansas City.
On July 21, 1925, in Arkansas City, KS, she was born the daughter of Ralph Edward and Ethel Mae (Evinger) Lock. She graduated the Class of 1944 from Arkansas City High School. On January 21,1946, she was united in marriage to Claude H. Bazil at the courthouse in Winfield, KS. She worked mostly as a devoted homemaker. However, she worked as a painter’s helper in a shipyard during WWII; housekeeping at Ft. Scott Rest Home and Medicalodge East and at Harmons in Winfield.
Surviving to honor her memory are: son, Ralph Bazil (Rebecca) of Rose Hill; daughters, Claudia Blair (Jesse) of Forest Ranch, CA; Glenda Branine (Tim) of Ponca City, OK, Margaret Hunter, Ruth Zink (Louis) both of Arkansas City; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, a brother Duane Patterson (Darlene) of Arkansas City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a granddaughter.
Cremation has taken place and the family will host celebration of life services at Mt. Zion Community Church of Arkansas City on Saturday, January 23rd, 10AM. A memorial for Good Shepherd Hospice of Wellington, KS has been established. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
