David Floyd Paxton

David Floyd Paxton, 68, of Winfield passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 23 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield, interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5-7 P.M. Monday, March 22. Memorial contributions for Mr. Paxton may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.

David was born September 12, 1952 in Canon City, CO to parents Jack and JoAnn Paxton. He attended schools in Colorado and Oklahoma, and worked for the Simons Chicken Plant in Oklahoma as well as the alfalfa mill in Oxford, KS. David was united in marriage to Audrey Wilson on April 21, 1991 in Miami, OK.  He enjoyed being outdoors, going camping, hunting and fishing. Most of all David loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Audrey Paxton of Winfield, children: Patrick Wilson of Winfield, Janet Garoutte (Jerry) of Winfield, and Robert David Paxton of Winfield; grandchildren: Alex Garoutte of Oklahoma City, Jeffery Wilson of Winfield, and Elizabeth Potter of Winfield; siblings: Randy Paxton, John Paxton, Linda Kay, and Sheila. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father Silas Blevins and brother Donald Paxton.
