Connie S. (Schuyler) Smith

Connie S. (Schuyler) Smith, 78, of Winfield, KS passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Winfield Rest Haven.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 22 at Highland Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield to defray expenses.

Connie was born on March 10, 1943 in Winfield, KS to parents Wilbert and Maxine (Hicks) Schuyler. Connie graduated from Winfield High School in 1961 and then attended Cowley County Community College. She worked at William Newton hospital in many different fields, as a switchboard operator, nurse’s aide, payroll coordinator, and in accounting. Connie enjoyed spending time with friends and coworkers, going to the casino and trips to Branson with her friend Wanda, her grand dog Lucy, but most importantly spending time with her daughter and grandkids.

She is survived by her daughter Tami McNown and husband Robert; grandchildren: Justin Mcnown, Josh Mcnown, Brittney Mcnown, Jordan Mcnown and Sofia Smith; great-granddaughter Layla; daughter-in-law Rosa Smith; sister Betty Eberhart and brother Rick Schuyler. She is preceded in death by her parents, son James Allen Smith, and sister Judy Martindale and brother in law Dick Eberhart.
