Christopher Bruce Law

Christopher Bruce Law, 66, of Winfield went to be with the Lord Friday, January 31, 2020.

The family will hold a celebration of life service at 1 P.M. Friday, February 7, 2020 at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Winfield. Private burial will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, contributions may be left in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Chris was born in Wichita, KS on April 16, 1953 the son of Kenneth Law and Lorita (Fooshee) Law Orr. He attended Wichita West High School until his junior year and graduated from Andover High School, he later attended Columbia Bible College. Chris enlisted in the US Navy and was a FTG1 (SS) on the USS Ray (SSN-653) and served from 1971-1977, he was stationed at Charleston, SC; it was there he met the love of his life Mary LouAnn Swartz. They were married on June 17, 1977 in Charleston, the couple moved back to Winfield in 1984 where Chris joined the family business: Law & Sons Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning. Law & Sons closed in 2001 and Chris began working for Waldorf Riley and later Kuhn Mechanical, from which he retired in 2017, he later worked in the maintenance department at Southwestern College. Chris enjoyed shooting, woodworking, trains, studying scripture and being an active member of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship, he worked in the youth program and AWANAS program for over 26 years. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and VFW Post #3544. Above all else, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Chris is survived by his mother Lorita Orr; children: Leah Hess (Regan), Aaron Law (Rebecca), Esther Law, and Nathan Law (Rae); grandchildren: Dylan, Ayden, Christopher, Donovan, Joshua, Jacob, Solomon, Ivy, Edith, Emerson, Abigail, Elijah and Atticus; sisters Cheryl Wilson and Deanna Catlett; brothers Kevin and Howard Law. He is preceded in death by his father Kenny and wife Mary.
