Charles M. Schupak, 78, of Winfield, KS passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at William Newton Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Winfield Veterans’ Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Lodge #110, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
Charles was born July 23, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA the son of William and Jeanette (Beck) Schupak. He graduated from high school in South Philadelphia, later he received a bachelor’s degree from Temple University. Charles joined the Army National Guard and retired after 26 years. In January of 1970 Charles married Clara Boggs in Philadelphia, where the couple made their home for most of their lives, they moved back to Clara’s hometown of Winfield in 2011. Charles had an undeniable talent for music, he taught music classes for many years in Philadelphia, he played trombone in the Army band for 24 years, and more recently he played piano and organ for several local churches. Charles was a member of the Winfield Municipal Band, the Masonic Lodge #110, and Prairie View United Methodist Church.
Charles is survived by his children: Yvonne McNeil, Stephanie Schupak, and Joseph Gregory Schupak, granddaughter Reagan McNeil. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Clara.
