Charles S. Combs

Charles Samuel Combs, 73, of Wichita, KS passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Oxford Funeral Service Chapel, interment will follow at the Oxford Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 12-2 P.M. Monday, prior to services.

Charley was born on August 9, 1948 in Wellington, KS. He was raised in the Oxford area and graduated from Oxford High School in 1965. Charley was united in marriage to Norma Davis on September 11, 1993 in Wichita, KS. He worked for most of his life as an auto mechanic, he enjoyed working on cars, riding his motorcycle, and going camping and skiing.

He is survived by his wife Norma, son Charles Samuel Combs II, grandchildren: Bradley Baer, Braden Baer, Mia Melvin, and Charlie Combs, sisters Trish Miller and Ella Holtsclaw.

Charley is preceded in death by his mother Dollie Mae Combs, grandparents Charles and Delphia Combs, daughter Charla Sue Combs, and siblings William Gayer and Ellen Gayer.
