Carolyn Louise (Kinney) Chism, 74, of Winfield, KS passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at William Newton Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Wichita. Memorial contributions may be made to the USD 353, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
Carolyn was born in Wichita, KS December 26, 1947 the daughter of Rosevelt and Lucretia (Adams) Kinney. She grew up in Wichita and graduated from East High School in 1965. On January 19, 1970 Carolyn married the love of her life, Edward Walter Chism, they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. Carolyn loved helping people and most of her work was with the elderly and children, she worked at Lake Lodges from ‘70-’73, at Social Rehab Services from ’82-’84, the Winfield State Hospital and Wellington Health and Rehab from ’84-’86, Futures Unlimited from ’86-’92, and at USD 353 from ’92-2015 as a para. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include son, Kenston Chism and wife, Tonya of Urbana, IL; son, Jamie Chism and his wife, Michele of Winfield, KS; grandchildren: Zacchary Brown and wife, Ericka; Brad Brown and wife, Hope; and Jordan Chism; great-grandchildren: Camden Vargas, Rhett Brown, Hadlyn Briles, Henli Brown, and Holland Brown. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings: Richard, Lois, Charles, George, Jacqueline, and Barbara.
