Carol Ann Stoy

Carol Ann Stoy, 73, of Winfield, KS passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center. 

Carol was born in Pawhuska, OK on December 25, 1949 to parents Paul and Marjorie (Niblick) Boyd, she was a Christmas baby and every year she got a special gift to sit aside to celebrate her special day. She went to school in Pawhuska and Dewey, OK, and worked as a manager for Gibson's Discount Center in Independence, KS and later after retirement as the self check out cashier at Wal-Mart in Winfield. Carol was a people person and seeing and making people smile really made her day, in her younger years she enjoyed dancing and an ice cold, red beer. Carol was also a very gifted artist and enjoyed drawing. She loved horses and dogs and talked a lot about her various pooches during her lifetime, watching true crime shows, and going to the VFW and American Legion; but most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids, she raised them for most of their lives and loved them with all her heart and considered them her children.

Carol is survived by her children Tammy Keene and Melvin Blenden (Joe), grandchildren Shawn Keene (Tylor), Daniel Keene, and Tommie Keene, great-grandchildren Camdyn Topper, Karson Boyd, Jaxson Lawson, all of Winfield, and four sisters, Sharon Lockman, Paula Blevins, Kim Boyd, and Sally Boyd.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Tom Stoy, and two sisters Pam and Betty.

Cremation will take place; memorial services will be held at 1 pm Friday, April 28, 2023 at Shelley Family Funeral Home with a dinner to follow at the American Legion in Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield to defray expenses.
