Betty Joann Jones, 80, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at Medicalodge East of Ark City.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 18, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Betty was born on December 21, 1940 to parents Ernest Shoup and Eva Jane Farley in Davis, OK. Betty attended Ponca City High School, and on August 16, 1958 was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clyde Neal Jones in Ark City. Betty was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 18, where she served as president, vice president and poppy chairman. She enjoyed working in the kitchen on bingo nights, giving Christmas gifts to veterans and collecting school supplies for children, but the most important thing her life was her family and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her son James Jones of Winfield, daughter Joanna Trenary-Parker and husband Marc of El Reno, OK; daughter-in-law Sheila Jones Delk, sister Geraldine Ringgold of Ponca City, OK, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Neal, son Ronald L. Jones Sr., sisters Billie Jean Dickson and Grace Carroll.
