Leona Grace Jordan, 86, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at Alderbrook Village in Arkansas City.
Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial contributions in Leona’s name may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be left in care of Shelley Family Funeral Home – 906 W. Kansas Ave. Arkansas City, KS 67005.
Leona Grace Jordan was born on November 30, 1931 in Winfield, Kansas the daughter of John and Grace (Gardner) Eastman. She attended public school in Winfield and grew up in Cowley County. Leona was united in marriage with Lewis Leonard Jordan on August 4, 1947 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Leona was a dietician for over 35 years, she worked at the Burden School, several local nursing homes and the Winfield State Hospital. Crocheting, gardening, and cake decorating were some of the hobbies Leona enjoyed, she also attended Central Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family.
Leona is survived by her children: Karen Rodenbaugh, Sharon Watkins and husband Roger, and Bonita Helphingstine and husband Dan; sisters: Janice McGowan and Louise Stevenson; as well as 7 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, sister Ruth Maddox brothers Eugene Eastman and Billy Eastman.
