Joan Sharlene Hatfield

Joan Sharlene Hatfield, 77, of Wichita, KS, formerly of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at Brookdale East Senior Living of Wichita, KS.

A memorial service will take place 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City, KS.  Inurnment will follow at Parker Cemetery.  A memorial has been established in Joan’s name for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation.  Contributions may be made through Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.  For more information, visit www.shelleyfamilyfh.com.    

Joan was born on September 17, 1942, in Arkansas City, KS, the daughter of Loris Samuel and Violet May (Morton) Hatfield.  She was educated in Arkansas City, where she graduated from high school.  After high school, she attended St. Mary’s of the Plains in Wichita, KS and got her training in radiology.  She worked 30 plus years as an x-ray technician.  She enjoyed dining and shopping with friends and spending time with her 2 nieces, great nieces and nephews. 

Preceding her in death are her parents, her sister, Nancy Burton and brother, Elvin Hatfield.  Surviving family members are her brother, Sterling Hatfield, her sister-in-law, Dixie Hatfield; and two nieces and great nieces and nephews.
