Jason Lee Tinsley, 41, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Tuesday, Feb 5, 2019 at South Central Kansas Medical Center. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 9 at Shelley Family Funeral Home. Because Jason was a very giving person and always was there to lend a helping hand, a memorial fund is established with Midwest Transplant Network. Jason was able to donate life to others. Jason was born on March 28, 1977 in Maryville, Illinois, the son of James Leo, Jr. and Margie (Biggs) Tinsley. After obtaining his GED, he worked as an assistant manager at Dollar General in Anthony, KS. He also worked at several convenience stores and Sykes Enterprises in Ponca City. He met the love of his life 15 years ago and they became married last year in July, 3 2018 in Ponca City. In April of 2007, Jason became a truck driver with Swift Trucking. Later that same year in October, he started work for Price Trucking and Rubbermaid and worked there until 2011. In 2011, he started hauling over the road for Prime, Inc. until is accidental knee injury in December of 2018.
He was an agnostic but felt spiritually welcome at Connect Church in Ponca City, Ok. His hobbies included card game, Magic the gathering, video games, fishing, reading books, music and learning about history. He was passionate about his family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife, Letha and three daughters, Breanne, Hanna and Kahia of the home; his mother and father, James and Margie Tinsley of Arkansas City; his mother-in-law, Retha Whitaker; his sister, Sherry King and husband Mark of Ponca City; his aunts and uncles, James S. Biggs, Greer, SC; Patricia Henderson, Arkansas City, Barbara Kay Faughn of Florida, Larry A Tinsley of Illinois and Kriss Romay of Kirkwood, MO; his niece and nephew, Hunter and Amy King of Ponca City; his cousins, Melissa Tinsley Smith and Matthew Smith of Illinois, Marshall Biggs, Monica Biggs Jeffers and Danica Tinsley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James E Biggs, Fuller Mae Biggs, James L. Tinsley, Sr. and Beatrice June Tinsley.
