Ina Mae (Anderson) Johnson

Ina Mae Smith Johnson, 92, passed away February 22, 2019 in Wellington KS.

Ina Mae was born on October 25, 1926 in Emery Arkansas, to Hugh and Artie Smith.  Ina Mae was the oldest of 7 children.  She married her husband, Dalton, of 72 years in Batesville Arkansas on June 21, 1947.  To this union a son, Donny was born on January 3rd, 1949. They later moved to Wichita, KS in 1952 where she worked on aircraft at Cessna for 21 years before her retirement in 1987. 

Ina Mae treasured her family above all else, especially her only granddaughter, Heather and her only great grandson Jacob.  She also enjoyed when all of her siblings and their families would come for a visit, this gave her a chance to cook huge meals and visit.

Ina Mae was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Wichita KS, where she enjoyed the fellowship with members.  She is preceded in death by her parents; Hugh and Artie; son Donny, sister Eloise and three brothers; Danny, W.H. and Billy Ray.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Dalton, daughter in law, Janice Johnson, granddaughter, Heather Drews and husband Jay; Great grandson, Jacob Johnson, sister Verna Caulkins and husband Clint, brother, Wilson Smith and wife Sissy and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington, KS visitation will be on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 9:00 until 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8. A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left with Shelley Family Funeral Home 704 N. Washington, Wellington, KS 67152.
