Grace "Sally" Drake Obituary

Grace “Sally” Drake, 90, of Wellington passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Botkin Care and Rehab in Wellington.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington. Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. with no family night scheduled. Burial will be at the Attica Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Diabetes Association and may be left with the Shelley Family Funeral Home PO Box 555, 704 N. Washington, Wellington, KS 67152. 

Grace “Sally” Irene Drake was born December 26, 1929, the daughter of Eli H. and Francis (Horton) Whiteside in Shamrock, OK. She attended Drumright High School in Oklahoma. Sally was united in marriage to Ervin Drake in 1946. He preceded her in death. Sally was a receptionist and a loving caregiver to her family when anyone was sick. She enjoyed ski trips and spending time with her family. Sally had a strong faith in the Lord. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Sally is survived by her daughter, Sharon Silcott (Danny) of Wellington; 9 grandchildren: Brian Silcott, Kelly Nance, Beth Harrison, Quinn Drake, Ashley Drake, Jordan Drake, Chris Drake, Todd Drake and Chad Drake; numerous great grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Baker of California.

She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Ervin Drake, 2 sons: Larry Drake and Jim Drake, and a daughter, Carolyn Dick; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
