Frank Hunter Obituary

Frank B. Hunter, 69, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at his home. 

Cremation will take place and the family will have a memorial service at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Bible Christian Church of Arkansas City.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donation be made to Bible Christian Church. Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City is in charge of the arrangements.

Frank was born on July 7, 1949 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of John Franklin and Flora Bonnie (Rogers) Hunter.  He was reared and educated in Muskogee, where he graduated from high school.  After high school, he moved to Arkansas City, to be close to some of his family.    On February 9, 1973, he was united in marriage to Margaret Rose Bazil.  The couple made their home in Arkansas City.  Frank graduated from Cowley College with his Associates degree.  He was employed with TG&Y, Otasco, Fire Department, Dog Catcher, Smith and Moon (Struthers Thermo-Flood), Casey’s, and Gordan Piatt. 

Frank was a devoted member of Bible Christian Church and served as an Elder of the church.  He enjoyed his M.A.G.I.C. group and his church family.  Frank loved golf in his younger years.  He also enjoyed playing board games, cards and enjoying a meal with family.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

His family includes: his wife Margaret of the home; his son John Hunter (Laurie)of Anthony, KS and daughter, Christi Clark (Kevin) of Arkansas City; 6 grandchildren, Nathan Hunter (Emilie Galbreath), Jordan Fox, Kevin Wilde (Paige), Jessica Clark and Jonathan “Xander” Hunter and Rebecca Hunter and one great grandchild, Ember Hunter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles Hunter and one sister, Beatrice Gilliland.
