Alvin Earl Ballin, 89, died Friday, May 31, 2019 at his home in Cambridge, Kansas.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Burden City Building at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 6. The family asks that you bring your instrument and a covered dish to share. Arrangements are entrusted to Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

The son of Henry and Delilah (Woods) Ballin, Alvin was born in the family home East of Cambridge on December 2, 1929. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1947. Alvin served in the US Army, retired from the Santa Fe Railroad, and farmed East of Cambridge. His hobbies included music, traveling, fishing, hunting, and eating.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, sister, and two sons. Alvin will be missed by a host of family and friends (both two-legged and four-legged).
