Kenneth Gene Creamer

Kenneth Gene Creamer, 81, of Wellington, KS passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Wellington Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 19, 2024 at Hillside Baptist Church in Wellington. Interment will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church from 1-2 P.M. Friday, prior to services. Memorial contributions for Ken may be made to Hillside Baptist Church, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Ken was born November 11, 1942 in Dixon, MO to parents Marvin and Lydia (Dodds) Creamer. He graduated from Dixon High School and joined the Army National Guard. Ken was united in marriage to the love of his life, Betty McClary, on April 18, 1970, they shared just under 54 wonderful years together. Ken and Betty were foster parents from 1985-1998, they adopted several of their foster children. Ken’s career and hobby was working on cars, he was a master technician and worked for many years at Scholfield Hyundai. Ken liked fixing things around his home, he enjoyed reading and watching anything western-themed, especially Louis L’Amour, Zane Grey, and John Wayne. Ken’s faith was very evident in how he lived his life, he was a member of Hillside Baptist Church and served on the administrative board for many years, he was also a deacon at other churches he had previously attended.

Survivors include his wife Betty, children Amy Macias, Travis Beasley (Tricia), Ben Creamer (Amanda), Robin Creamer, David Creamer (Shana), Edward Creamer, Michelle King (Chuck), Jonathan Creamer, Ethan Creamer (Bry), Cathy Creamer, and Ezekiel Creamer, 20 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Crystal Creamer, grandson Noah Macias, granddaughter Ruth Creamer, sister Linda Creamer, and an infant brother.
